Oddly enough Armand Hammer, while a great American Industrialist, and maker of a wnderful refrigerator de-oderizer, whas very cozy with the early Hierarchy of the original Hierarchy of the Russian Bolsheviks.
The rumor is the Hammer and sickle was devised as a tribute to him by his russian friends.
Conspicuously absent are Siegfried and Roy, and Bartles and James.
What about Captain & Tenille and Ren & Stempy?
Winter: I see someone's been having fun with Armand Hammer's wikipedia page...
Anonymous(1): There are a LOT of conspicuous absences on that list, some of which appear in the comments.
Anonymous(2): Yeah, what about them? Interesting that you bring up the singers of "Muskrat Love" and a cartoon dog and cat. Bestiality much?
Anonymous(1) here....I think (2) and myself are not so concerned with pointing out the absences to the author but rather are seeking an explanation for certain glaring exclusions.
For reasons that may yet become clear (or may yet become totally irrelevant) the author willfully excluded pairs that overtly suggested sexual partners, female names, or animals. (There are exceptions.) Therefore, no Siegfried, Tenille, or Stimpys. Bartles & Jaymes was an oversight, as were Ernest & Julio, due to an subpar interest in wine on the author's part.
technically, Arm and Hammer was one person.
This is actually one of the few things that I recall from my Russian History course my Junior year. That and the varianger Rurik who was asked to oversee the feuding tribes along the Kiev and thus began the line of Russian Tsars which finally ended with Ivan the IV (the terrible). The Romanovs were actually a distant cousin that was elected because they were viewed as weak by the Boyars and thus easily controlled. Problem was, Romanov outlived all the Boyars who elected him and managed to bully the younger ones.
But I'm just saying...you know.
